You can find mesh for doors and windows in "Jumbo" or "Coop Bau&Hobby".
Hmm good idea...I will try JUMBO. I will go now! Any idea what I should call it to explain to the salesman/woman?
Ok I will just print the images

I live on 4th floor and we get all the heat from the flat roof above. My flat is roasting HOT. My problem is that if I open my doors or windows then bloody insects start coming in. Yesterday a two inch yellow wasp came in while I was watching football. Took me 30 minutes to get him out
Where can I buy special net/screen/mesh for doors and windows in Zurich to keep insects out?
Similar to this or anything that wiill keep insects out and let me keep my door and windows open
I tried google.ch but I can't find anything. I went to Migros and coop and they don't have anything either.
Just letting everyone know that I built it two weeks ago and it works 100% good and stable
Say NOOOOO to pre-built crap PC shops in CH.Now I will alway make is myself

Hi there
It will be better to place your offer at our marketplace there you have better chances to sell your card
Oops sorry I did not know that there was a marketplace Posted it there as well. Thanks
I am a 3d designerwho lives in Zurich/CH and I bought this card for my new 3d workstation. I play 0 games but bought this card to save money as 3d Quadro cards are 3 times more expensive. My 2x Opteron 285 CPUs were ordered from USA and they are held in Swiss customs right now
While waiting I have started thinking that I should have gone with the 3d Quadro cards and not a gaming card. I am thinking of buying a Quadro card now. So basically the EVGA video card is BRAND NEW and has NEVER been used. I payed CHF1000 for it at digitec.ch. Currently it's seelling for CHF 850---> if you can find one Smile2 EVGA card have life long warranty. I did register the card with EVGA but I will edit it with your details and make it all official. So you won't have any problems with EVGA.
I have not decided to sell it yet...only thinking. Will anyone be interested in buying it for CHF 800??????? I loose CHF 200 but my loss could be someones gain.

u know, u need 2 Heatsinks ??
Is the Case Silverstone TJ-07 good ? Does it look nice ?
Yes I have two heatsinks
TJ07 looks SEXY!!!!! I might get the CPU next week...fingers crossed. Had to order from USA...still comes cheaper than CH. Very short supply all over the world. AMD has lot of hard time keeping up with demand

mutant, did you now assemblied your sys?
No
I have all the parts sitting on my table apart from the Opteron 285s! The Swiss dealer made me wait one month and then sold it to someone else when he got 4 pieces!!!
Now I ordered from a German site (www2.computeruniverse.net) and they got a shipment but it went to people who had ordered before me. So I am still waiting. These are the parts I got this month-
CPU- 2 x Dual Core Opteron 285s (Only this is missing)

Hey thanks a lot!
As soon as I hear what price cuts AMD is making on the Opteron CPUs on 15th of Feburary I will order the case
Question- I want to buy "surge protector" to plug my PC and other expensive electronic stuff. What is "surge protector" called in Deutsch?

You should have bought it from here

Video review of the case-
http://www.3dgameman.com/vr/si…case/video_review_03.html
Nice case you have but I am in love with the TJ07 Where in CH do you live?
Btw Brack don't have the case yet. Hopefully soon though.
After lot of research and thinking I have decided to go with this case. Hopefully the price will drop in few weeks. Completely sold out in Europe
I am back all the way from hell
I bought the system Opteron 280. I had nothing but trouble with it. The CPU temperature was 75°C when it should not go over 67°C under full load for Opteron 280. Normal should be in 50°C range. I was having lot of other problems like my HDs making clicking noises, crashes, BSOD...etc etc.
The shop said 75°C is normal for my CPU so I showed them proof from AMD
After having the sytem for 2 weeks I returned it to the shop as for so much money I expect a well made system. After some argument I managed to get 100% refund.
Now I will start again but try to build it myself. My 1st attempt to build a PC
I think I should be able to build it without too much problem. I just don't trust any PC shop anymore. I preffer being incharge of my own destiny
Anyone from Zurich who knows how to build want to help if I get stuck?
I asked my friend and he said this-
Tyan says that the K8WE will support quad rank dimms in each slot on the board at DDR400. It may not work at 1T, but this depends on the version of the Opteron you are using. As a rule, everything from 246 and down will only work at DDR333 speeds with this sort of setup, but some 246 (CG stepping Opterons and up), and all higher Opterons, will be able to run this speed, thanks in part to a tweaked mem controller. To be absolutly sure, I would e-mail Tyan, and ask them about your concerns. Give them the specific model number of your RAM, and the specific stepping (or model/part number, if you dont know) of your CPU. This should give them enough information to tell you what modes will be available to you.
> Are you running yourself a business or are you employed?
I am running a business as in one man company and more properly from next year. Not AG or GMBH just self-employed one man design business.
Btw are you running a business as well? Could do with asking some CH business related questions in the future
Yeah getting 16GB even in the future would be insanely expensive. I just said that to understand the point you were making.
Thanks for the detailed explanation...I understood everything you wrote but it still went slightly over my head. So let me sum it up...you are saying-
a) Buying 4x2gb sticks is a good thing? Right?
Problem is that none of the companies including Boxx are giving that option.
b) So you are saying an ECC DDR400 module won't always run at ECC DDR 400 speed? right?
By the way your English is very good I have been in CH 4 years so my German should have been better
You are in Luzern I guess. I went there for a day trip few months ago...very beautiful city. You work in IT or it's just a hobby?
Ok I just realized that you are 20 years old cool!
I just turned 32 hahahahah..old man!
Part II of the last mail.
BLJ you have completely confused me about the memory
The Tyan MOBO supports this-
Memory
• 128-bit dual channel (interleaved) memory bus
• Total eight DDR DIMM sockets (four per CPU)
• Supports up to 16GB of Registered DDR
• Supports ECC with CHIPKILL Technology
• Supports DDR 400 / 333 / 266 memory
So the fastest memory that it can support is DDR 400 right?
If I buy 4x1GB DDR now and then in the future when Maya comes with a 64bit version I can buy another 4x1GB DDR400 RAM. To have total of 8GB.
Was your point that by doing this I won't be able to get to the maximum possible for the Tyan MOBO which is 16GB?
Was your point that I should get 2x2GB DDR400 sticks now so that in the future I can buy 6x2GB DDR400 modules to take the total to the maximum possible for theh MOBO which is 16GB?????
Sorry I am really confused I think you meant something else
.
.
Thanks for the explanation and all the help so far
The thing is that when I configure the system on the US website. The price comes in USD$ and does not include any US taxes. The taxes get calculated based on which US state the PC gets shipped to. I guess taxes vary from one state to anohter in US. Anyway the BOXX dealer will charge me the pre-tax US $$$ price. So it does not include German, US or Swiss tax. I assume I will have to pay the 7% CH tax.
I will double check with him the 16% German tax part if I go the BOxx way.
I did a quick calculation to compare the prices... although it's not completely accurate and some parts are slightly different but to get a rough idea-
Self built system price---> CHF 8500 approximately
Transtec.Ch----> CHF9000 with 3 year onsite support (I have to send the final configuration to him and he will send me a final quote)
Boxx---> USD $8300 no taxes---> CHF 10,900 + 7% tax 1278 = CHF 12178
Dalco.ch I am waiting to get a quote from them. I have begged him to use the case and PSU that I want. If they agree and match the price of transtec then I will buy from them. They also provide 3 year on site support.
Transtec is looking the best option as things stand right now. If Dalco use the case I want and the the PSU and give a reasonable $$$$ then they would be perfect.
Boxx looked good on paper but I am not rich
EDIT- BLJ I am reading your mail and after digesting the info I waill answer
That image is only to show the PC case. I wish it came to CHF 2000.
There is a configurator and once you add all the parts it comes to around
CHF 8500+ on the transtec site. The price you see is just the start price with nothing inside LOL
Regarding the card- I am getting the GeForce 7800 GTX 512 Mb a very good card for Maya. The quadro is 3 times the price of this card. Most Maya artists use the Geforce cards. So not using a Quadro card is not a problem. I myself have been using a Geforce card with Maya for long time.
By importing it to Switzerland you will pay 7% MwSt tax.
But the german seller should be able to discount the price by the 16% german MwSt tax. But you have to ask him. He probably wouldn't do it by himself..
I understand the 7% MwSt for CH part but I did not understand the 16% part. Can you please explain?
