Tyan 9700 Pro

Tyan hat nen sau Aufstand gemacht um die Karte, schon fast ne Frechheit. Alles nur heisse Luft. Aber lest selber (von TheInquirer):

TYAN SAID IT isn't late to the party with a Radeon 9700 Pro card it will introduce next week because it designed its own unit rather than just reselling ATI's own card.

Sources at Tyan claim other makers are just rebranding the cards ATI makes, which isn't good enough.

A somewhat bolshie attitude, but refreshing in a vendor or partner. Tyan obviously has an attitude problem...

The firm said it will intro its Tachyon G9700 Pro and include a specially tweaked overclocked driver that will mean the performance of the card kicks butt on the "other guy's" card.

Getting first to the market isn't that important and that's why Tyan claims it has taken its time before releasing the card.

The heatsink is specially designed and Tyan claims the card will clock a 400MHz core speed. The designers, Tyan said, have tweaked the board layout and the card will work with all AGP 8X chipsets, again, unlike the "other guy's".

It has hardware monitoring built into the board, which, we think, means it auto monitors how it's performing, although this appears to be propietary information.

Quite a few reports on quite a few fora have suggested that Radeon 9700 Pro cards conflict with quite a few chipsets.

The card will be pitched at around $350 or so. Here's a photo that is shown below. Meantime, a Danish site, TweakUp, appears to have a review of the card -- here . Sheesh!

wenn ich mal so über den daumen den durchschnitt, unserer 3DMarks tabelle rechne, komme ich auf etwa 370/680.

Hehe und die schreiben ja etwas von wegen GPU @ 400MHz

Die sollen lieber bei ihren DUAL-Mobos bleiben

Mal ne Frage wenn ich das richtig gelesen habe dann hat das teil 265mb RAM bringts das?
Ich mein jetzt ich will mir ja auch ne 9700pro kaufen weiss aber nicht ob ich auf ddr2 warten soll und wenn es jetzt karten giebt die 256 haben würd ich vieleicht so eine kaufen aber eben bringts das so auf 3dmark bezogen?

Da der Speicher auf den 256mb Versionen aus Preisgründen eventuell sogar langsamer sein wird, bringts das eher nicht. 256mb <-> 128mb spielt eh keine Rolle in 3DMark, und wahrscheinlich auch in 98% aller Games nicht.

thx und was meinst du lohnt es sich auf ddr2 karten zu warten?

Schwierig zu sagen weil ich nicht weiss wie hoch die den DDR-II dann takten werden. Auf der Geforce 5 soll der Speicher laut Gerüchten ja mit 500 Mhz (DDR1000) laufen, aber ich hab keine Ahnung wie's mit der Radeon 9700 aussieht. Eigentlich hat sie ja schon mehr als genug mem speed so wie sie jetzt ist, übertakten bringt ja kaum noch was.
