Barracuda IV/V gestoppt

Nach Bericht von x-bit labs wird die Produktion der sehr jungen Seagate Barracuda IV und V gestoppt.

"... it would discontinue to manufacture and sell the Barracuda ATA IV and ATA V hard disk drives. The last product order date is 14 February"

Dafür sollen angeblich neue Serien rauskommen.

"The newer Barracuda 7200.7 Plus, Barracuda 7200.7 and Barracuda 5400.1 that were announced in early December and appeared for sale very recently will substitute the predecessors on the market ..."

Hmm, hab heute ne Barracuda V bestellt. Soll ich wohl warten?!

Die 60GB-Version finde ich total leise. Die Leistung konnte ich noch nicht testen, werde es aber noch tun.
Wahrscheinlich hat Seagate die neuen Platten schneller entwickeln können, als vorgesehen.
